I would have loved to meet you for once..but I am afaraid being in France now, it is not possible this time...but thanks for the invite I received through e-mail...I will also e-mail separately to renew my mole-end licences..
As for ideas for the reports, I can only think of the many times I wanted to export stuff from the catalog and being stuck with hierachical imports...I would dream of a plug-in that would "EASILY" extract the fields from a hierachichal file (from Actinic-oops Sellerdeck) and puts every thing into a workable Panel area, then either make a flat file or change easily the fields requested in the hierachical file for a re-import... for now..I must say, for the "trader" like me (not Developper) it is still a real nightmare...and too much of a gamble to take to try the different ways to do it I have seen on this forum...and people like me haven't got the time and brain to sit down and learn hierachical files..!
And another idea, would be if we could have reports of all the Variables, expressions, and possibilities offered by the site you are working on when designing..I explain :
- I (sometimes) want to amend a design, or add a piece of code with blockifs..and I get stuck by have some error codes because I have used a variable "BUT IT WONT WORK THERE"
At this point, I would have loved to be able to have a list of all the variables and where they work ..That would save time...I am not sure if it is a work for you or for Sellerdeck to take, but people like me can be put away from this lack of knowledge, and if a report existed on what you could do with variables and expressions (and what you can't) we would have better use of the program...(still remember the moto from my first version of actinic" Make a website in 10 minutes..yeah...right ! after all these years, I am still pulling my hairs ...)
I would have loved to meet you to after all these years of working together.
I think you can do the things that you want to do already.
Firstly, we have an option on our product mash program that allows you to export an Actinic flat file, this file contains many of the product details (not options - because they are not linear they can only be dealt with in the hierarchical form), you can then make changes using notepad or excel and then import the details back into Actinic using the flat file import using the update option. More details here :
One thing I'd like is the ability to remove "United Kingdom" from the address label* for all UK destinations. Dunno if that's the sort of report thing you're talking about though
If you send your report over to me via our support system (http://moleend.helpserve.com/index.php?/default) I can whip that out for you and we can add it as an option for the integrated label reports in the future.
I am writing my free custom reports for the horizons conference today and am working on products sold, I have these
Products that have never sold - full list
Top n by quantity
Top n by cost ex vat
Bottom n by quantity
Bottom n by cost ex vat
My question is, should the top/bottom n reports include products that have sold 0, I was thinking not given that you can get a full report of those from the first report. What do you think?
