This New Forum Design - Awful search algorithm

The search on this new forum is terrible.

I searched for 'Change SearchResultProductImage' and got a gazillion results ALL nothing to do with the SearchResultProductImage.

You try it!

I don't think the forum search likes words that are longer than 20 characters. "SearchResultProductI" (20 ch) seems to be accepted as a valid search criterion, whereas "SearchResultProductIm" (21 ch) returns the message "Your criteria is not restrictive enough and might return too many results." Terrible English too.

Shame we cannot search for variables then as they are all quite long.

In such cases you can use Google via e.g:

searchresultproductimage site:community.sellerdeck.com

vBulletin allows the search word length to be configured:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Searching Options -> Search Index Minimum Word Length and Search Index Maximum Word Length

I am still very disappointed with this new forum, the search is truly awful. For example, Search for 'Sellerdeck Payments Page' it only finds entries with the individual words. You cannot usefully search for phrases. Try searching for Add to cart button. You get loads of results that contain Add, address, Cart Button, and random combinations. Eg:

ying the Cart Contents AND the address details in one click of a button. It is he

Is it just me or do I remember the old forum search being much more useful???

I agree. I think the old forum search was much more useful and it would be so much better if we went back to it.

All it did was perform the search on Google in a new tab (I think). Google has the best search engine and we all know how to use it so it would be nice if Sellerdeck would make the change rather than stick with a clunky forum search that has several limitations.
