    Replacing Desktop PC

I am looking at options to replace our existing desktop PC that is not compatible for upgrading to Windows 11 OS due to Microsoft withdrawing support for Windows 10 by the end of the year.

The replacement will be MS Windows 11 OS and I wish to retain the functionality of Sellerdeck V18 desktop and MS Access at least for the time being.

Considerations are to replace with another desktop PC or preferably a Laptop and I would be interested to learn from others' experience and suggestions to consider before deciding which way to go?

We've always used Dell in the office with no problems
      - now using Micro Form Factor MFF Optiplex (with 12th Gen Intel i7)

      Laptops is also great
      - make sure you have a good backup plan, as a very long time ago we ran Actinic off a laptop... and the laptop was in a car that was stolen... with no backup... somehow I managed to re-construct the whole site within 24 hours...
      - for me laptops is always about the keyboard (Lenovo Thinkpads were my choice, but they've changed the keyboard so much that it's not as good as it were)
      - I'd visit a few places and try out various makes/models where possible (or can use a dock with external preferred keyboard and mouse)

I find Sellerdeck doesn't seem to perform any quicker over the 20+ years, so anything that can run Windows 11 should be good.

        Thank you Ed and zgap.

I opted for a new Dell 16 Laptop, Windows 11 Pro to maintain bit locker security on business drive SDD partition with 16 GB ram hopefully to speed up application performance.

Ordered early to take advantage of Dell's back to school offers and just delivered today.

Out of the box it seems nice and sturdy with some weight about it - just what I was looking for.

Hope to be able to complete set up and transfer everything over from the Desktop PC by the end of October when we will be closing the online business.

Intention is to wrap the Sellerdeck V18.2.2 application up in its entirety on the new laptop partitioned hard before removal from our shop domain.

I will keep SD Support open during this period just in case of any problems emerging with the application during the transfer that need to be resolved.
