    SEO question

Today we have received a request from a website to remove a reciprocal link that has been in place for many years as the website is suffering a penalty from Google.

Google have asked them to remove all reciprocal, and un-natural links hence the request.

They also have to report to Google any links pointing to them still in place that are un-natural and need to report any sites that have un natural links to them.

My question is should this concern me in any way, I will of course remove the link but just concerned I should do more.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Jason

Just remove the link. This won't have any impact on you.

      Many thanks Mike.

I did think it was more a reflection on them than me.

      Kind regards

Any link that goes to external website and is repeated on every page like at page footer might get classed as bit spammy for the site in question.

I personally would ensure any external links appear on one page only like a recommended links page
