    Which Host?

I am currently with Host-It paying £110 a month for a multi-35 package inherited from when they took over Pin brook.

Having done a reverse ip check on the domain I know see that there are 459 sites on the server which I feel is excessive for the amount I am paying, and is probably the reason sometimes my sites can be a bit slow loading.

Also there is one site that has been highlighted as having explicit content which may also cause a Google issue.

I would be interested to hear any recommendations for other hosts, and an idea of how many sites they tend to host on the server, and of course if you are happy.

I do see that a lot of you are on 1&1, but also see there seems to be a lot of problems with them mentioned on here, is this fair comment, or just that so many host with them that it seems the problems are higher than other hosts?
    Regards

    Jason

For that amount of money, you could have a dedicated managed server with 1and1.

My experience with them over many years is that they are no better and no worse than anyone else.

Yes they have issues from time to time (last week saw a DDoS attack which took my site and many others offline for a couple of hours) but we still see 99.99% uptime.

I've recently moved from a Host-It dedicated server to one of their virtual server packages which is a Sellerdeck specialist option (whatever that is). It's £35 a month and you can run mulitple domains, and seems as quick as the dedicated server I used to have. I wanted to stay with them as they've provided excellent support in the past and I value this over pure economics. The package I went for isn't obvious on their site, I came across it having spoken to one of their sales team. I'm happy to give you more information, call or message me.
