The daughter is on the phone to the tax man, and of course gets the automated answer phone directing you to the correct department. the phone is loudspeaker because there's going to be a 40 minute wait in the queue)
the person programming this must?? have a sense of humour ??
this is the first I've heard the response "garbage garbage"
it exactly what I though ( for many years) of the automated telephone answer services
"Garbage, "garbage"

- the tax man automation says "in a few words, tell me why you are calling"
- the daughter answers "self employed"
- the tax man automation says "I'm sorry, I don't understand that..."
- so again she says "self employed"
- the tax man automation says "I'm sorry, I don't understand that... You can use words like . . . "
- so again she says "self employed", this time slightly louder
- the tax man automation says "I'm sorry, I don't understand that... You can use words like . . . "
- so again she says "self employed", this time even louder
- the next answer from the automated taxman's ansaphone was "garbage, garbage"
- and promptly follows this up by saying "I'm sorry, I don't understand that... You can use words like . . ."
