URGENT - Easyspace Phone Number

I wouldn't recommend them especially if you have a .com because there servers "can be" be based in the UK. My client was removed from google.co.uk becuse of this and when I put them on my Uk servers they appeared back within a few days. When there is a problem who can you speak to at easyspace: nobody, how long does it take to get an email reply when there is a problem, quite a long time. I have just taken over a client for this reason becuse they want to be able to talk to somebody, have a low populated server that is based in the Uk.

These are valid reasons for moving host, but there are many other factors - such as:

what security holes exist in the host's servers (for instance - did they implement the php fixes back in December - ie, are they running earlier than 4.3.10? If so - get them patched, or avoid them...)

What version of apache/php/perl/cpu/ram/clients/data-transfer?

Do they have more than one machine?

In many cases, it appears that designers/hosts get into hosting and don't have even a vaguest clue about running their servers... there are examples ALL OVER THE PLACE...

I wouldn't trust someone running a single dedicated cpanel server - but that's just *MY* opinion.

On a side note - a UK hosting client should also EXPECT to pay more than a US hosted one - bandwidth charges in the UK are massively more expensive than can be obtained in the USA.

Did you get anywhere with trading standards and Easy Space. There are a right bunch of crooks, my website were totally down all of yesterday and today, nothing much seems to work, the answer on the 25p a min line is, oh well sure it will be fixed soon!!! Anyway, would like to move to a decent company, but £49 a go, surely they can;t!! Such a shame been a customer for 3 years, no probs at all, now problem after problem, my website have a down for about 3 days in the last 2 months!!

You don't have to pay the £49, if you change the nameservers, just £5.00 to have facility to do so on your control panel. Then from the control panel you can move your site but leave the domain name with them and renew with them.
Saved £44 pounds!

Read 1&1 Terms and conds VERY carefully - in fact, get your lawyer to read it....

I second this. We have had real problems with 1 and 1 when we didn't want certain domain names to automatically renew.

They make it very difficult to cease a domain name and when you finally get through to their billing dept they promise to call back and don't.

One to avoid in my humble opinion.
