    Those Flash Pop Up Banners

I've noticed on www.yahoo.co.uk and a few other sites some rather impressive banner type pop up adverts. Yes, apart from the annoying aspect, I can think of other uses.

I don't mean annoying pop up windows, I mean those MM Flash animations that are in the main body window but hover in a static position above the background.

Does anyone have any idea how they are produced, or know of any documentation relating to them?

    Regards,
    Mark.

Fairly simple really... just create a simple flash animation with a transparent background and any relevent actionscript you might want (ie to hide the advert), put it in a layer then you can move the layer around the page using DHTML...

personally, i hate the damn things... they're really annoying, but if thats what it takes to keep my fave sites running, then i'm happy to tolerate them.

Layers... DHTML... Dang... I knew I'd have to start looking at DHTML sooner or later...

      Thanks for the reply.

If you have dreamweaver, you can animate layers using their drag and drop interface... dead easy!
