Design Library Visibility Across Sites

I would like to be able to re-use layouts/variables/blocks etc across sites. It would be a great boon to be able to have the design library common across sites. I could then swop sites and re-use the same snippets etc.

I'll second this, as at the mo I open/close other sites to get at neat bits of code I'll made for one site that I want to use for others

A good suggestion. One way to do this is to create a 'Partial Site Design' snapshot that contains the entire library that you can import into new sites when you first license them.

nice idea, but each time, you have to remember all the bits you need to include.
why not introduce a "date last revised" to any of the library items - then you can select all items "between dt1 and dt2" or "after dt1" etc

simple things like "the included files are not remembered" would also be useful

I've started to do the following:
Every layout I change a layout I keep a copy of the original as another name saved in a separate section called My Layouts. I also group any new variables into a separate group called My Variables. Using this method you can create a parial design snapshot that will contain both the changed or additional layouts and new variables as well as the orginals.

I'd like the design library to have a globally scoped section that would be always be available regardless of which site your working in. This would be of great benefit to designers for code reusability. I'd also like ot be able to drag and drop layouts and variables into different groups.

I think I will start to adopt a similar technique, but I'll include a "start date" within the folder name, this way, I can then see wverthing altered SINCE ????

Please add my vote for a central library accessible across all sites. Easily re-usable code would be a god-send and save messing with partial snapshots.
