I'd second that also, just a little bit of communication goes a very long way. Thank you.

My only query on this point would be with regards to being proactive rather than reactive, or whether in fact i read the situation incorrectly. You mention the use of Google checkout in the US and was aware of it's launch. In today's marketplace Google could sell sewage water if they wanted and a large proportion of their schemes take off very well, so it's a very fair assumption that it will also take off here.

We do seem to get new things launched, lots of interest is created, we then ask actinic when we can use them and actinic seem to jump into action and look into it and get it to us as soon as they can. When a big player like Google is developing a new service like this, do they not consult with companies like actinic on integrating and aim for a global launch alongside partners that can use the service as standard?

I picture a day where Google launch something like this and actinic have the update available the next day. Am i dreaming on things like this?

        Hi,

Another thanks to Actininc for acknowledging the postings and feelings displayed here. Maybe we won't have to wait too long for either a PSP type integration or a checkout integration, hopefully including v.7.

        Cheers

          Count me in

Please count me in for google checkout for developer v7.
It seems to me that the more payment options you have the better, and Google are still the giants of the search engine world.
It wont be long before Google checkout is as big as PAYPAL with their marketing.

...could go on and on and on but got bored on page two of google's results.

Pretty damn hard to find cart software that doesn't have it, except 1 of course!

I think it is pretty bad that this thread has been going for over 2 weeks and Google checkout hasn't been added to Actinic. I would have thought Actinic would be working overtime to get this added.

I've noticed some of my competitors using other shopping carts are using GC and they've also been included into the £10 offer. They're also being listed in google addwords with it.

Now perhaps google are just building it up to carry on the momentum, but the bottom line is my competitors are profiting off this while I am sitting waiting on Actinic adding this option.

With so much competition and prices being so low, £10 off a £30 spend is fantastic! My competitors are using this to steal my customers as regardless how loyal they are if you were offered a third off elsewhere you'd run in a flash.

I will be watching the outcome of this very closely. If actinic turn this around very quickly and actually listen to their customers then I will have my faith restored in them.

If they wait for the smoke to blow over and see if GC checkout turns out to be any good then it may be the final nail in the coffin to where I move to a different product. I need and paid good money for a product that is at the forefront of developements. If it takes months for them to implement important changes like this then I wont be happy.

I remember last year when V8 was launched and we all asked why the big change to the way Actinic worked, the answer was that it would make it easier and faster to add new features to the software. So we have all gone through the pain of V8 but now there is a feature that is of use we are told that it cannot be implemented - even though a couple of us have got it working.

                        Very odd.

We are evaluating Actinic Catalog 8.5 as a replacement for our existing system which uses Marketworks. I was surprised that Actinic wasn't already supporting Google Checkout. We want it too, please. (That's a vote).

I know we're only evaluating it right now but it's 99.9% certain we will be registered users any minute now (or at least when 8.5.1 ships). Ironically, one of the downers about all this is that out Marketworks site DOES support Google Checkout and so our Adwords campaign reflects this.
