Design snapshot

This is true so it will need a random file name generator to ensure some sort of security. Perhaps the client copy can delete the snapshot on download and the designer have a timed dlete of say 24hrs after which it deletes the snapshot from the server.

Perhaps a form of encryption of the file could be used? Perhaps using the encryption key that Actinic generates per site?
i.e. in a similar manner to the .ord files.
Actinic already has the encryption/decryption method available.

The ability to selectively transfer/backup elements of Actinic (e.g. Orders/Accounts/products/design/layouts/variables) to the server and download and import back into Actinic [securely] would be a very useful feature.
It would require some date/time/synchronising feature to ensure continued data integrity..

It would give a far more flexibility for Actinic being run from 2 locations and allow another option for a more secure method of backing up snapshot files externally.

Just an idea - not completely thought out, however it might add some fuel to the ideas fire!

In the meantime a working partial design snapshot would resolve a lot of these issues anyway, with minimal additional work as Malcolm has already said!
Also, sometimes adding what appears to be a simple addition to make things easier can sometimes introduce another level of complexity and one more "thing" to go wrong!

As Ducan says - this is where ALL the effort should be at the moment as without Designer working correctly anything else is a complete waste of time.
