Can the fragment be modified to allow clicking on the image to open a popup page, before anyone suggests it i do not like using products as these mess with sage when using link.

a pop up page, as in a new window?
can you not just add "target="blank" or similar pop up reference to the url in the link tab and click "image clickable" ?

I might be missing the point, of course

Thanks Tracy, i am think along the lines of extended info or even better the option to put a number of images in and then generate thumbnails and the customer can click on these and the main image changes

Sounds like Norman's Multi-Product Image Add-on (http://www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff/index.html) but used in a fragment. I would expect it would be able to work in a fragmant. He has a demo here:
