Compact CSS & JS

Can we have actinic compact javascript & css before uploading so that we do not need to keep seperate files (pre and post compressed).

Just some simple whitespace/newline & comments removal etc for the JS and a basic css shrink (same again and some extra using shortcut vars etc).

there are free opensource options that could be used for this. Link it to the compact html option.
