    Linking to Actinic Database

To allow linking to another actinic database, so when using multi sites the descriptions can be the same across all.

I know Jan does a stock control program but when you beak the links it causes chaos with old descriptions being put back in e.t.c Probably the way i used it but it was a bit of a nightmare for me.

You can do this with external linking as well - you have to copy and rename the Actinic database first though and link both dbs to the new one.

You should be able to get around the issue where data goes back to it's original values by exporting the data to file and importing (I haven't tried this and so am assuming that exporting externally linked data exports the external data not the local data).

      Thanks Jan

I was hoping that i can use just one master database and link to it, even copying the actinic one and linking all sites to it i would have thought would still give me the same problems i already experience.

To be honest it was actinic that suddenly stops linking comes up with an error and then i have to reinstate the links and change the product descriptions, caught me out with a couple of customers and stock problems

I will give it a go later and see how i get on

      cheers for the tips Jan
