    Guide to Actinic's CSS

Just a thought, could be very helpful to v8 owners who've never needed to use CSS before.

i second a vote for this css learning.

css is a valid part of shop design, and yes, i know there are plenty of css tutorials online, but some actinic specific ones, would be great for people.

I disagree completely, we need to focus actinic in on their software and its functions and reliability. If we start getting into then teaching elements of web design too, where will it all end. For non-experienced users, you have the 'advanced themes configuration', which gives you all you need for a basic store. If you are moving away from a basic store, then you will also need some html experience, do they also have to teach that then.

Actinic is an ecommerce package and should be kept to that. In all honesty once you get to know CSS and see how badly it is written, the last thing i could suggest is that you rely on actinic to teach you CSS - trust me, they are a long way off how an experienced CSS coder does things.

If you want a prime example, their section lists and marketing sidebars are not IE6 compliant - 40% of people still use this browser and the CSS has not changed from a year ago, when we did not have IE7.

little snippets of code for specific actinc changes are fine - like i documented above - the dup Q about getting a compnay logo to fit exec theme

But a general CSS guide - no way jose. There's plenty of css sites already out there.

Thats what I meant the logo, buttons, colours, etc, that are referenced from the css file.

I reckon it'd save quite a few threads in the v8 section.
