IE and Firefox Preview

Would it be possible to add, on a next version, the possibility to choose the browser on which we would like to have an offline preview ? (choosing for example between the two main : IE and Firefox. It would be very helpfull

Well, the preview in the 'Content' tab does show you what it will look like in IE7. I then use Firefox as my default web browser so I can get a quick alternative view. You can also get the (IMO) essential 'IE Tab' for Firefox, which lets you switch between IE and Firefox really easily.

Having said all that, I have passed on this request to the development team - esp with regards to Dreamweaver.

Oooo.... just realised I can split the preview window onto the second monitor ... that has just made my day** ... no more squashed preview panes when in the design tab

At the moment, have FF in the background, preview in IE and copy URL over.

However, Dreamweaver allows you to preview in multiple browsers without having to open every browser first. I also believe there is an option to view at different screen resolutions and widths?

Otherwise, it's a pain when you find that the layout looks completely different on another PC.

Well, the preview in Actinic shows you want it is going to look like in IE (although, admittedly, the 'Content' tab preview will be rather more accurate than the 'Design' tab one).

Until this is a feature, all you need to do is get yourself the IE tab plug-in for Firefox. This allows you to view IE pages within Firefox.

Can anyone tell me why my masthead logo is centred in IE & left-aligned in FF? I only discovered this by downloading this add-on as a result of this thread, never noticed before!

Your <div's> containing the images are floated left, yet the container is told to text-align center. Conflicting styles being interpreted differently it looks like.

OK in plain English, you have a big box and you have set this big box so that anything that goes inside it, sits in the middle. In this big box you have 2 smaller boxes, these smaller boxes have been told they need to sit to the left.

On firefox the little boxes are well behaved and do as they are told, whereas in IE they are a bit naughty and forget what they are told and follow the big box rules.
