Snapshot option

It'd be good to have an option to include ALL the images within a site folder, not just the ones that are referenced to.


Example: You have a product that there are maybe three different designs of, depending on what your supplier sends you. You only have one referenced at one time, the one you have, although you have images of the other two in your site image folder.
When you take an snapshot and re-import it does not include the unreferenced images.

Excellent idea.

Lots of different reasons why : my e.g. : a manufacturer/supplier might have sent you all the images but you haven't added all the products yet. I keep having to save the images separately.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have passed it onto the team.

I don't think including them in the snapshot automatically will work particularly well (it wouldn't be that hard to accidentally get 1GB snapshots which then can't be easily backed-up/uploaded) but an additional backup mechanism for images like that might come in handy.

I think this option should be enabled by default.

logic: people keep the image library pertaining to their products in their site1 folder, this is a logical step to take even though the items arent referenced, becasue otherwise you'd be keeping your images in two locations.

not good. i end up making 2 snaps anyhow, one for actinic and one for my remaining images.

and as for 1 gig snapshots, thats what a support snapshot is for, isnt it?

I think this ties in with a previous thread also where it was requested to include folders in additional files, so we don't need to add single files. Maybe in Business settings we set the folder for our product images and from there, all are included?

And the option would be not to delete items just so that the images stay referenced (and therefore keep them in the snapshot)?


I made the request as a store owner, the snapshot size is a minor issue for us.
