Exclude specific items on also bought

The ability to exclude specific items from products "also bought" list.

Some products are not suitable when purchased together yet despite notices users will add both to the cart which then shows in the automated list and compounds the issue.. which means manual intervention to remove from the list.

Do you mean on one product, specify that it cannot have any of these, maybe like having certain products in content categories and excluding them. Or do you mean banning a product from the lists completely? as you can already do this on the marketing tab.

Eg: a widget only accepts v9 batteries and muppets keep adding AAA batteries to use together ... this then shows in the also bought list every upload so have to manually lock the list to prevent population.

.... or have I missed something obvious to prevent this?

      v8.5.0 (bunkered)

With you now, thats a tough one to do as it would be ok in some places and not others where people have made the mistake. You only have global choices you can do as standard. Maybe adding a component to offer the correct batteries would make them less stupid? - doubt it.

Aye - it is on a product by product basis that it needs controlling and setting to overcome incorrectly purchased items from appearing.

Don't really want to go down the component route as although it will help mitigate the issue it can still arise and populate the list incorrectly. The situation is slightly more complex than the battery example... so the component route would not work.... eg:

I have a decanter and the cleaning brush we sell does not fit that decanter - it fits the others but not that one so they see the brush and add to the cart (despite a note to the effect) ... a component would be fine for the other decanters but leaving off the component against the errant decanter would still allow them to add it from elsewhere on the site and populate the list.
