    Automatic Google Base submission

There is a couple of online shopping systems that offer this now, and seeing as we already have the export option in Actinic, this is the next step I belive.

    Heres how I see it....

    New menu option in Marketing

Input username and password details which links into google base ftp
(details on creating this is base)

    Explanation of single page products

Option to turn on or off Automatic submission on every web update.

Google can fetch a file stored on your own server, and use that for a base feed.

You can set google to come and get this file every (or every week, etc).

I have created a proof of concept that uses data from ActSQL to build the data.

The latest version includes things that mr stinkyink made clear on his blog about the value of certain pages.

As long as your mySQL data is fresh, then when google comes and gets the file from: http://www.skateasylum.co.uk/base.xml (which is actually a php file, generating the base in realtime and not a flat file at all) then it'll be up to date and all hunky-dory.

    At least, thats the theory.

Sidenote: This works well, on all the asylum sites. The same data is used to build a sitemap.xml too.

This would be a good addition to the product Darren.

You can do this already with the Mole End Product Mash and One Stop Automation and it's very popular.

^ this is the path of least resistance.

Jan's solution is quicker to deploy, and probably does more than you need.

              Gabe,

How do we get the latest version? The download on the site seems to be the old version of the scripts!
              Cheers
