Larger Message field in Shipping and Handling

Is it possible to extend the size of the field in shipping and handling?

You can get to it by:

Business Settings
Shipping and Handling
Message

This is a limited size field and I don't understand why it could have not been made longer as I use it all the time to display useful messages for my customer. Is it possible to have its size twice the current length?

I have added this to the wishlist for you but you could create a custom variable and replace the current 'ShipMessage' variable with your custom variable in the meantime.
