    HSBC Payment Pages

On one of the Actinic -> HSBC E-Payments bounce pages, the word "automatically" appears twice. Unfortunately, the second time, it's spelt incorrectly with just one ell - see below.

Could this be corrected pls as it's just the sort of mistake that phishers use and doesn't do a great deal for customer confidence. If it's an HSBC, not an Actinic page, then pls could you tell HSBC to learn how to spell!

Also, is there any way of putting in the information succinctly that if the customer is paying using HSBC, and is having their order sent to a different delivery address to the billing address, none of this info will show up in HSBC's payment pages? I've tried all sorts of ways to do this but they all look clumsy.

    Hi,

I've asked the development team where this is coming from as I can't find it anywhere in the software. Looking at the URL it may be on the HSBC server but I'll get that confirmed.

HSBC require the country code to be passed to them for the details to be displayed on their pages. If you switch your tax to be 'Tax by Invoice Address' then they will be shown two drop-down boxes (one for invoice address and one for delivery address) on the first checkout page, which means that the correct country codes will be passed to them and it will then display all the correct address details.

Thanks Tracey. Will make the change as suggested.

Never actually used HSBC with Actinic.

Tracey - out of interest, why have Actinic gone to lengths to create a HSBC/Actinic themed payment page, but haven't done so for other PSP's, such as Protx?

This is probably down to HSBC payments requiring redirection from a secure interface. With HSBC you go to Actinic and then to HSBC.

As I said I haven't yet used HSBC - so thanks for supplying me with the answer, Lee.

Though I do feel something seriously has to be done about the Protx pages in particular - they look so old and outdated it almost gives you the "was this invented before encryption" feeling - no real secure* and friendly* service at all.

            *Aesthetically, of course

I'd agree on that, in fact if you adopt a standard 3 column website layout, the PROTX page is too big to fit in the space provided due to the way it is coded. **shivers at the use of the font tag**

Yep, although Protx do let you download the theme files to let you play with and work around with the design - then send them to support, if they approve the design (suppose it's got to stick within company/legal policies) - you can then activate it in your vsp admin account.

That all sounds very well until you download the files and think "heck, I'm not that old!"

Its not in the software - as Lee says its on the Actinic server that interfaces with HSBC

That print screen I posted had the page after's url. The actual url (I just grabbed it now) is https://secure.actinicsecure.com/cgi-bin/is_main.pl so that looks to me like an Actinic server.

Yes, it is on our server and it has been marked to be put right on the next update.
