courier tracking code box

Hi

This is a very small request but would help greatly, please. A box on the order management tabs that allows me to cut and paste a courier tracking code too. This code is then automatically placed on the order shipped email. It is easy enough to place a link hard coded on the email outerlayout to the couriers site but maybe this could also be integrated automatically. So the customer would get the link and tracking code along with the order shipped email.

I suppose we are looking at around a dozen commonly used couriers who have pretty much all gone to online shipping data input, any integration to order processing in actinic would be great. I have looked at the mole end systems but not sure how much time it will save.

Hi Nigel,

While you are waiting for this wish to be granted you could put the code into the delivery address user defined field if you are not already using this for something else - this is available in emails.

Can you explain further how this would work, which user defined field would this be and what would you need to enter in the email template to send the tracking number?

The user defined field is on the customer tab of the order details dialog, towards the bottom. What you entered in the email would depend on your courier, most of them provide you with a web page that you can track orders and you can usually pass a parameter to the URL to go straight to the tracking page for that order.
