CSS Images Loaded First Up Too

The CSS files seems to get sent pretty early on during an upload, however any images it uses seem to be sent very last. This is a bit backwards as you will have numerous pages on the site using the new CSS file, but the images aren't there to complete it. I fully understand sending the css early, this is a good idea, because as each new page is loaded it will jump into line immediately, it needs the images to complete this though.

For instance if you created a new navbar and added a background graphic, as each page was uploaded the new container would be there on each new page, but it wouldn't get the image until the end.

Thinking about it, i'd like to see all PDFs, CSS files, images and files sent before any other pages get sent, that way as soon as the page gets uploaded it will look and operate correctly.

PS - Why can a brochure page not be sent by the single page upload facility?

Sheesh no pleasing some people - moan moan moan

Actually i had not noticed that until you mentioned it, and the single page upload works great but its probably no quicker on small sites.

The images is an interesting point, but then with the new upload feature it would have be quicker. Im not arguing here but has it not always uploaded the css 1st

Darren, may I ask you in what context you use the Single Page Upload?

Not that I know anything on this, but I'd always assumed that files were sent up the server with a temporary name (or temp folder maybe) and then renamed /copied over at the end once everything was in place (the merge files bit or whatever it's called).

Adjustments to existing descriptions is the best one as far as i can think so far.

Providing there are no Duplicates and that you aren't using snippets of the description in you marketing lists or else where on the site.

LOL Richard i know this is all new to you, but on large sites with very few duplicates and as Lee said some minor changes then this is a time saver. Its just a shame that the new upload feature was released at the same time.

                        Cheeky,

Okay I concede and shall rant...

If you can use it then great, but I don't see the point of being able to make changes to a product that can be contradicted else where on the site. What if I want to change an image, price or page name? I have to do a full upload any way, because references to the changes on other pages aren't updated. Marketing lists, related products, Links, etc will not reflect the most recent change.

With all the advances Actinic have made with the upload time, getting the software to update all references to the change made would still be much quicker than previous versions.

I just think they could have gone further with it. IMO

The single page upload is great providing your site is constructed to make best use of it. I use loads of duplicates but they all have thier own descriptions so and change to a product description can be uploaded easily - the only time there is a problem is if a price changes but thats not offten.
