    Hidden pages from navigation please

Although there is a KB article on hiding brochure pages from the navigation it does not work in all cases (V9.03) as it leaves empty boxes in the nav (ugly).

I am sure many others like me would like to have lots more info and brochure pages on their site that are accessed from links within sections and relevant products and not cluttering the nav list indefinitely every time a page is added.

    Thanks

    Ed,

Try moving the Block if one level up around Brochure Page Link Selector e.g Simple Brochure Page Link. This will stop creating empty link layouts.

I have some brochure pages hidden and some product pages in the brochure navigation to enable related products on an "info" page.

Will do - thanks - can you explain how to move the block if up a level as it seems wherever I put it now a message "invalid expression appears"?

youe need to move the closing block aswell, cut it (the blockif) then click the yellow up arrow thingy and paste it then put the closing block in, but remember to delete the closing block from thr lower level

        i think that makes sense

Thanks but sorry Im lost - found the parent layout but each time I attempt to paste the block if into the condition editor it reads "invalid expression"!

After fiddling with it I got mild success but lost the graduated boxes from the nav and was left with simple text -!

Just code your own list instead, you can choose easily what goes in and what doesn't then. You need to have a good understanding of blockifs and variables to do what you want, it might not be worth the time it takes to learn those. I never use the actinic brochure page menu lists, it's a PITA and too restricted as standard IMO.

Lee, I have used my own links lower down my pages to various sections horizontally accross the footer, I guess same principal but just get the positioning right...

Apologies as this is wandering off the wish list topic

I did it, http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=36913 see that thread and it will show you what to do. I have done this and set different section numbers for different pages.

I have completely hidden pages that I havent actually checked the "hide on website" button.

You may also need to create a new section link layout called "hidden section link" with nothing in it, so that any section page layouts in the innerlayout don't show the page either. It depends if you want it completely hidden or just not showing in the menu.

I think that bit of code is fantastic, it allows me complete control over what goes in the menu..

I modified this for Brochure pages.. see www.pinkequine.com the bottom section.. works a treat.
Okay, I pulled the pin. Now what?... Wait!...Where are you going?
