    Export to Excel

Would be great to be able to export an "Orders" tab view to Excel...

    #2
It would but I'm not sure it would work too well. An order is not a single line but can have many products and payments, it also references products and attributes and so on in other tables. In theory it should be possible to have it as an option in the Export Wizard though in a similar way to the catalog.

What would you want to do with the orders after exporting?

      Export

General number crunching - sales per month/week etc. The other alternative is that Actinic develop a method of reporting that doesn't include learning how to use Crystal Reports?

I think the business version allows an orders.csv export, you could use that to do as you wish then i'd have thought.

PS - indeed it is there is business settings on the order processing tab. orders.csv and orderlines.csv, they should be a good starting point.

True - I forgot about that - but bear in mind that will remove the order from Actinic.

It doesn't seem to warn about that, surely you can choose whether to remove or not, as you could just as well be doing it for info or analysis?

It moves the order into completed - it doesn't remove it from Actinic. My error.

You could also import the data into Excel using the 'Database Query' from within Excel

Sounds a good idea as i can't be having orders completing by default. Using this method do i risk damaging the Actinic database?

Make sure Actinic is closed before accessing the database, and read only (do not write) and you should be fine. Backups are essential though as ever.
