Would be great to have a built in image upload fascility for all the makers of personalised gifts. t-shirts, mugs and....cakes?

I agree in an ideal world Tim, i think the problem is the numbers that want this are so few, it does not warrant the development time. Norman at drillpine.biz has just this though as an addon if you need it.
