Ideal if the Product Entry Ref. in the New Order Tab is NOT case sensitive.

Welcome to the forum. The Ref box is not case-sensitive, I altered a few Product references and product names to be mixed case and a search in both Uppercase and lower brings up the search results correctly.
Could you give us an example, lest I am missing something here?

It is the Product Entry Ref. field that is case sensitive. If you use the Search then that is OK. If a product ref. is CL8M it will not accept CL8m if you enter it in error.
