What do you want in V11

    Many thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to close this thread now as we have more than enough to be going on with. We will cover as much as we can in v11, taking into account the requests here that gained the most support. The main wish list thread remains open.

    These have all been stated before but I'm just putting in my support

    Invoice generated in a different format so that the information can be copied/pasted or exported into Word is a must for us (BIG ISSUE FOR US).

    Spell check.

    Ability to design you own automated emails so that things like shipping reference and courier websites address can be added in.

    Add to basket confirmation message when you buy something instead of being brought to cart and then brought back to page your ordered from.

    Finally as a general statement I have to say I think this software is way more complicatedly to achieve something that other cart software make very easy. Ok Im not a master of code but I can fumble my way around but this software really defeats me.

    Emails actually get to customers

    Tracking number and courier (Website included) emailed in completion email

    Preview pop up box visible without having to go into page preview

    Faster invoice printing (V10 was supposed to have been sped up - it was - by about 0.0000007692secs)

    When having more than one Product Option, the prices to be in brackets in one of the drop down menus (Its all ticked and correct but will it display? Nope!)

    A simple invoice design page (with logo option)

    'Own Site' customer product feedback instead of having to pay [again] for Feefifofum

    Bar code integration, so that the x million people who have the bar code scanner app for phones can find our products

    Up to date help pages

    V stands for version. v9-v10 was laughable. Major & lots of changes, so its worthy of a version change. Look at the Ford Escort, they didn't just make the headlights a bit brighter and market it as a new version!

    Bruce, thanks for your reply, understand what you are say re back-order facility but they not really back-orders or not seen as back-order, they just have been grown yet.

    Our delivery profile is pretty complicated and I don't really want to convert all items haven't been shipped to a back-order. Equally it is a useful piece of data.

    I will look at back-orders again to see if we can use them.

    That's really what the back-order facility is designed for. Actinic expects the items in a single order to be shipped together. I will add your request to the wish list, though, and I will watch to see if it gets any more votes.

    I would also like to see shipping date allocated to individual order lines not set globally from the last shipped item which it is.

    We have orders which contain products which get dispatched at different times, each time you mark a line shipped, a new shipped date is allocated to all the shipped items.

    I guess with the on-line order records this will have to happen.

    Checking back over an order, it would be really useful, especially if there was a problem with the delivery.

    Yes yes yes! We very much need the ability for customers to access orders, track them online and particularly have the ability to repurchase. Some of our customers order 30 or 40 lines at a time and simply do not want to sit down each week and start again...Appreciate they can save the cart but this clunky and not a solution that work well enough...
    As per the post following the one quoted above, the ability to do this in V11 is going to be make or break for us in terms of sticking with Actinic or heading elsewhere. Looks like it is pretty key for quite a few others as well so fingers crossed...

    on Multi user the ability to have more than one site open on one machine. This is vital when taking moto orders as swapping between sites is sooooo slow its embarrasing when you're taking the call.

    layouts that allow all your product options to be displayed with a quantity box next to each one and one add to cart button. (Ones that can be simply selected if you have components not that require major reprogramming)

    Stock quantity display for each component even if you could have in stock out of stock that would be an advantage.

    As we sell a lot of secondhand books, we store them in an external access database as there is a fairly high turnover. Also, as there are only one or two of most of them, it's not appropriate to have any marketing features enabled for them. Currently, these marketing features have to be turned on and off from within Actinic - uncheck each checkbox (x3) then move onto the next product. For 10, 50 or maybe even 100, this wouldn't be so bad - but it's very tedious for over 1,200!

    So I would like to be able to link a field in the database to these marketing checkboxes, so they are automatically disabled when linking these products from an external database.

    And online account creation and management gets my vote too!

    I Agree with almost all of the things suggested!

    Duplictate part creation is a nightmare

    Online account creation .

    Order Tracking.

    Order History.

    Multi-user needs sorting out ASAP as it's slow as hell regardless of PC/Network Spec. It crashes at random times with no reason.

    Skype intergration?

    Chat system for customer enquires.

    Temp Products when doing an off line telephone order.

    Spell Check. Please





    How about some way we can import a standard CSS template like most other E-commerce site use to change the look of their sites. As using creating new sites is a nightmare (Well is for me!).

    Several currencies and multiple shippers

    How about making it easy in V11 to have as many currencies as you like. We're global now, aren't we?

    The ability to have orders fulfilled by many different shippers -not all my clients run their own warehouses and shipping facilities and some use several.

    I'll also support easier placement of same product in many categories, online order history, customer account creation and order tracking.

    To put our wishlist in to context, we sell plants through out the year, multiple delivery periods, each one with it's cost. People can order plants from a single delivery or order all their plants through out the year on a single order. So I would like to see:
    1. More flexible shipping charge process, we found a work around the enable us to charge a flat charge for each shipping period using catergories and change to the code but would be nice to have that function
    2. As we get on a single order, products which are shipped at different times of the year, better order processing, generating packing list for the items you just want to send at that time, not all the products ordered.
    3. Recording that an item is shipped, it would be great to be able to do this in the packing shed and not at the end of the day, possible using a handheld to process the order
    4. Better emails
    5. Basket - make that easy to edit and bring custom variables in, in our case I would like to show which month the product is from so people can see which delivery period it relates too. Again we have a work around using the thumbnail pictures and colour coding the delivery period. This would also be nice to be able to take that information into the confirmation order email.
    6. Voucher - our competitors have this option,it is becoming a major issue.
    7. Online account stuff which people have already mentioned above
    8. Page names I like the static page names


    No doubt there is other stuff but I have to get back to it. Thanks M

    I, too, am thinking of moving on after five happy years with V7. I haven't upgraded because there has been nothing there that I really needed. The real-time stock control was tempting, but by then my requirements had moved on.

    Here's my most basic wish-list:

    - improved customer experience:
    -- on-page itemised mini-cart
    -- earlier postage cost calculation
    -- auto-prompting search (like Google)
    - order and stock control integration with other sales channels (Amazon, ebay, Play) - even it it requires a third-party integration system like 1stoporders or linnworks
    - easier system for creating SPPs and duplicates
