Which small irritants would you most like fixed?

Over the years Actinic development has tended to focus on adding new functionality to the product. It's been suggested a few times that we're not very good at sorting out smaller bugs and usability issues that are not critical, but quite irritating on a day to day basis.

So if you have any issues like that which are bugging you, please list them here, and we will make a point of trying to fix the ones that get the most mentions.

Delete key doesn't work in certain places

One that springs to mind is the inability to use the delete key in a number of text fields, including the Meta Keywords & Page Name fields, unless this is already fixed in V10.

Internal page preview not rendering as the browser does

I'd like to have the page preview set to use a current browser, so that what you see it what you get online. The internal rendering engine on occasions, does not seem to render like any browser that i recognise.

Returning to the same page after a page preview

One of the most annoying i find is when you click on page preview and then go back to actinic you are not on the same page as you was on.

Completed order once opened, needs exporting to go back into completed

When we open a completed order which has been exported to sage from completed it then goes and stays open in pending and needs re-exporting again which then means deleting it in sage before updating

Business Plus Snapshot

We find that we can ONLY perform a successful snapshot (for use as a backup) if all users are totally logged out, windows closed, except Administrator on the server. If there are any User connections open (even if they logout but don't click 'Cancel') it fails. As we have four users in four offices, this means that the Administrator has to check each one in turn beforehand.

Could File | Snapshot | Export Site not perform this disconnection automatically? (Or, work without failing in the first place).

Loosely connected with this, if a Snapshot does fail, it unchecks the box 'Enable user logon feature'.

Field Focus

Most pop-up boxes do not automatically take focus on the field - add a new block if for example you have to click again into the field before you can start typing.

Popup Focus

Why does the standard code in showpopup, not force focus on the popup, once the popup gets hidden behind the browser pressing the button does not reveal the popup screen.

Simple mod but nice if it was in the standard code.

Ensure actinic application has an icon in the taskbar

A minor annoyance is that if you launch another program while Actinic is loading Actinic is missing from the taskbar.

Do not send an email if email not entered on MOTO form

A minor pain, It would be great if the system would not produce an email or order summary if no email address is added for moto orders, using one click completion.

All dialogues to be sizeable and remain that size

I'd like the dialog boxes to be fixed. I have a large display and i dont like scrollbars. On some ancient dialogs, (read: permutations) the space i'm given is insane.

Re-design the interface to make it more usable.

Enable the difference between BST and GMT to be seen on order times

Hi can I add the time issue with the GMT and BST. It casues us massive problems with orders that come in after our cut off but on the email they look like they are before the cut off. (Customers like to ignore the GMT if they are at fault!) it would really help if there was a simple tick box apply BST or something that would allow the system to change that time stamp.

Site Password

Probably mainly designers but I just had a real pain with site passwords. If you are using designer and have a site open that uses actinic hosting, and then try to to create a new site, it requires user name and password. You have to change site to one not using hosting before you can create a 'normal' site. Left me wondering what had happened for a minute or two. A simple selection would be a lot easier allowing Actinic Hosting to be selected if required.
