      As Lee says, google uses a combination of on-page and off-page factors to rank pages in the serps. If you want to focus attention onto an 'original' page rather than duplicates then the thing to do would be to apply some standard SEO to that page. Deep links would the main thing that comes to mind.

        Try some triangulation to get started, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Link to a page you work on from your home page and have another page on the same subject (an article for example). Home page links to page, page links to article and vice versa and article links to home page, so 3 pages in a triangle effectively. Inbound links to the page and the article, watch it rise like mommas yorkie pudding in the oven.
