Expand the Search options

I have just discovered why some of my products cannot be found on our site with the built-in search facility.

It seems that only the Product short description is used to build the search index. The Product Reference is not used. This means that if a customer looks for a product part number using the Quick Search facility it will only appear in the search results if it is also included in the short description.

I many cases I would prefer not to clutter the short description with part numbers.

So it would be helpful if the Product Reference could also be optionally added to the search results.
