SNAPSHOT - don't ask for password

I need to do a snapshot to send to support. Its OK I'll just set one going before I go home...

Oh yeah... I can't because after thinking about it for about 30 minutes it will then ask for the password!! Grrrr.

REQUEST: do a snapshot without asking for a password.

100% agree nothing worse than the first thing you have to do when you get home is remote back in to work to enter the password to complete backup.

Would be even better if you could set it to run automatically say at mid-night every day.

When you do a snapshot, at the end of the process you are asked for the password.

Hello

The reason for the password prompt towards the end of the snapshot process is that SellerDeck re-opens the Database, which requires user authentication. This is an extra level of security for Business Plus and Enterprise versions to prevent unauthorised access to the system as an Administrator.

Maybe the password could be given at the start of the snapshot process. It's not a huge problem for us as we seem to be able to snapshot in a few minutes.

SellerDeck will prompt you for a password in Business Plus if 'Enable Logon and Card Encryption' is checked in Business Settings | Options, even if Multi-user mode is not being used.

So there's the answer for the OP. Uncheck that setting.

So we have several people on this topic saying it is a problem, so I would still like it to be on the Wish List to be changed.

We understand that "this is like that because...", but we would still like it to be different.

We recognise there are issues with the way that Snapshot Export currently operates and will look at making the function unattended.
