Check and Upload Site Critical Files

I would like to see more troubleshooting features.

I would like a button that generates all site critical files only and uploads them WITHOUT going through the long database/html checking procedure (which on a big site can take a long long long time).

I would like to have a button that queries the website and displays the security properties of site critical files against the recommended propery settings for those files.

I would like more control over uploads. "Upload current page" STILL takes an age to perform - it still goes through a huge checking procedure. Just upload the page please!

Overall we need more troubleshooting control and overall control of the upload procedure.

Thank you for these suggestions. For clarification, are there any specific issues that you are experiencing with your site w.r.t the upload process?

Re the points mentioned above, there are some concerns re their straightforward implementation. For instance.....

a button that generates all site critical files only

......the definition of files critical to a site is not restricted to a certain set alone, hence uploading some in the absence of others might break the site.

a button that queries the website and displays the security properties of site

....This would not work on Windows servers....and so on.
Hence, if you could let us know the specific issues with upload your site is facing, we/ support can help better.

Hi the specific problems I am having are Not Specific, hence the requirement for more troubleshooting tools to compliment the current non-existent ones!

Currently, if anything goes wrong, it is the old "Website Purge and Refresh" solution, which I am afraid in 2012, with massive databases, is just not on.

We need tools to fix things like Order Tracking not working, problems with "session" files, corrupt " .FIL" files, and many more things. I've had issues with all of these things over the years and the "soltution" is already to refresh the website. Bearing in mind this can take MANY HOURS to do it is not really a solution at all.

I merely suggested a few things to get you going. I have no idea why "windos server" is a barrier to my request. Files on windows servers have rights/properties/security too.

Anyway, as managers of busy websites we need more toubleshooting tools.

Please add: Troubleshooting Tools to the Wish List.
