Keep getting Gateway 502 error whilst configuring web site details for my NT server.

The actual entry for this in the 'Web Server Result (HTML Error) Codes' document states:-"502 - Bad Gateway - The server received an invalid response from the gateway or upstream server it accessed in attempting to fulfill the request."

This error can happen for a number of causes, one of the following may help:

    * if you have used a mixture of IP addresses and domain names in the 'network setup' screen then ensure that all urls are using one or the other as the server can become confused about the settings.
    * check if your Firewall allows outgoing TCP connections for ports 80 (HTTP), 21 (FTP) and 443 (SSL).
    * ensure that 'Use Passive FTP Transfers' is ticked in the network settings screen.
    * 'Purge and Refresh' your site (Help | Troubleshooting' menu) - note that any perl script customisations will have to be re-applied after the refresh and the site uploaded again.
    * the 'script timeout' setting on the server could be too low. Ask you hosting company to increase the limit.
    * it may be a perl problem on the server, you could ask your host to re-install Active Perl (as a last resort).
