v10 MultiUser setup

Hi,

I'm just going through the process of setting up Multiuser access on v10. After some fiddling and testing it seems to be OK at the moment, but my question is...

1. Have you changed the Port numbers that need to be opened?

All the documentation from v9 states that 4371/4372 need to be open. This didn't work for v10 in Vista. Instead I had to open port 4374 (which I got when running actsyncsvr - debug complained that it couldn't connect through port 4374).

2. Also, now that I am able to connect from a client pc, running actsyncsvr -debug still tells me it is unable to start the syncserver. Even though it still complains about port 4374, I'm assuming it can't start because it is already running?

3. I have only opened port 4374. In v9 it noted that two ports needed to be open. Is there another port in v10 that I should also have open, even though it seems to be working at the moment?

Hello Dave and welcome to the community. For v10 ports 4373 and 4374 need to be allowed. This is also mentioned in the main v10 Help under the topic : Using Business Plus with Multiple Users
