    Differing totals

We have had our EPOS for six months now and have our own way of using it..

anyway I was playing with some of the reports tonight and found that my total stock value differed in two reports.

Total by category was £30,345 (example)
    Total by product was £30,765

I assume this can only happen if we have products asigned to deleted categorys?........

Another thing I noticed was a considerable number of stock items that had a negative total - clearly this is down to human error, so I printed off the report and will manually check the items stock numbers tomorrow, a negative total of course gives a lower total stock value.

    Hi Mark

Please can you tell me how are getting along with this. Have you managed to get the reports to tally, if they are still causing a problem please let me know so I can get this checked.

    Kind Regards

      Not very well actually.

I got rid of all the negative totals (stock) went to -reports - stock - but get the following error message,

"The expression CLICK you entered as the event property settings produced the following error : OVERFLOW"

+ The expression may not result in the name of Macro...etc
+ There may of been an error of evaluation, the function, event, or macro

I searched with in the help file for OVERFLOW, MACRO and so on but drew a blank, so from "working sort of" I have managed to make it "working not at all!"

All the other reports, sales and so on would seem unaffected.

        You got me worried there!

I am thinking on using QuickBooks (I do have an old version I use only to keep up with suppliers and orders - too many), buy the newest version and also hopefully Actinic e-commerce (I can hear Actinic worrying already!)
        Ciao
        actinico

ps sorry for any 'typing' errors or mistaks
        ;-]

Check out new thread 'inconsistent stock values'. This may be your problem also.
