    EPOS/ Vista

Actinic recently installed the EPOS system in our store. It doesn't seem to like Vista and all the IP details are cancelled each time we close the office computer. Does anyone know how to resolve this? We also have a intermittent network error problem even when the IP addresses are reset. Actinic say it is due to our wireless internet connection interfering with the network but this must be a common setup with a simple solution. Any ideas?

I would say that the Epos shouldn't be having any effect on your IP address setting. If you are having problems establishing and maintaining a connection then, yes, you should be looking at your network side of things. Things to try (especially if have problems with the network assigning your computer an address), is to set your IP address as static rather than DHCP. This is easy enough to do under network settings. If using a wireless network, try changing the channel you are using (BT supplied ones transmit much weaker on their standard setting - channel 11 I think) to get a better signal, and make sure it is secure as you could be sharing your network with anyone - which would also cause you problems!
