    Printer/Cashdrawer WILL NOT WORK!

    Dear Community,
Trying desperatley to get printer (MAXATEC MT150) and cash draw working on a fresh install of EPOS. Despite Actinic telling me that the above printer is not compatible, I know it is as we have had the same setup running on another Actinic EPOS machine for months!. The only difference in current setup and this new one is that the current setup uses a pole display. Actinic tell me that it should make no difference.
I have checked the emulation for this printer(TM88-III) and have set this up in OPOS. Printer is master unit, running on COM4 and cash drawer links to this master device. CheckHealth keeps throwing an error message on printer and drawer. Printer is physically working (have done a test print) and COM ports are correct and have new drivers but no joy. Despite spending over £3000 with Actinic in the last 18 months tech support seem unable/unwilling? to help out despite them having remote access to the machine for 48hrs. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

    Might be able to help

We had a similar problem but not with this printer. Does the printer show in Windows control panel? If it does and is set as the default we could not get it to print or control the till draw. Our solution from memory as this was some time ago was to first try not having the printer as default or even removing it and some how that worked. Don't ask me how but is Ok and has been for over 18 months. It does not even show as an installed printer on our system.

Thanks Sean but I have tried both installing as a windows printer/set as default etc and also with the no printers installed/all setting up through OPOS. Both with no success.
      Thanks anyway.

        Hi Simon,

I see you are still experiencing difficulty getting your MAXTEC MT150 printer to work with Epson OPOS.

I understand from the manufacturers user manual, this printer emulates the “Epson TM-T88II”, please ensure you are trying this printer and not the “TM-T88III”.

Please can you advise if you have tried using Epson OPOS with and without the MAXTEC MT150 drivers, some non Epson printers do not seem to work with OPOS if the manufacturers drivers are installed?

Also, Please can you advise if you have tried a USB converter with the printer incase the PCI card (Com Ports) have not been correctly installed, or Windows is not accepting the PCI card. From my experience of building EPOS systems, some times a PCI card will not work with a PC, and in the end I have to try a different PCI card altogether, or a USB converter.

Please feel free to contact me at Actinic Technical support and I can take a look at your OPOS setup, and advise further with this problem so we can get a faster solution.
