Product Code Already Exists

Ok, this is a real pain.

I have a product code 469000A

I find the product in Product File > Detail and rename it A469000

I now try look up and the product is not there.

So, I try and Add the product again but when the barcode is scanned, I get a "Product Code Already Exists...." error message.

Then I try a Product Lookup using the scanned barcode = no product found.

What on earth is going on, and how do I get to the original product, that is obviously on the system somewhere?

For some reason you need to get into data.mdb file (C:/checkout) and adjust from the barcode table and/or product table. We have had this problem several times and this seems to be the only way to solve it. I would suggest deleting the product in the mdb and then starting again in EPOS. This does solve the problem but is, admittedly a bit long winded

This may sound daft, but what did you open data.mdb with?

I've tried Access but it just appears blank.

I used access but you have to have EPOS/Checkout closed. It just refuses to run with the EPOS application open.
