    Database Amendment with OpenOffice

Is it possible to make amendments to the Actinic Epos Database using OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) ?

I dont want to try and then mess things up.

If its an Access database (which I expect it is) I believe you can view it, but don't try and alter or save it. Don't take this as being 100%, but I would be very careful (make a backup copy first and try viewing tha backup).

      Hi Pete,

I really wouldn’t recommend amending the Actinic Epos database. I may be able to help you if you state what you’d like to achieve.

      Thanks

If i've previously 'deleted' a product, then want to reinstate it, I cant because either the product ref or barcode is still within the database even though it is no longer within a product search.

It's really when I want to delete a product, I want it properly deleted, so that if I need to re-use a product ref or barcode, I can.

          Hi,

On my epos system I just deleted a product and then reinstated it using the same description and barcode without an error. If I try and set another one up (using the same details) whilst it’s still in the product file I get an error.

Please can you confirm what the error message reads when you try it and I'll look into it further?

          Thanks

          Andy
