Networked EPOS changes made in view with access

My shop manager just spent a day updating prices and minimum stock levels across the network. We used access (2007) so that we could order the products with the title, otherwise it is impossible to work with a prices list.

We opened epos using a shortcut straight to the file on the machine acting as the server.

The updates did not seem to work.

    Any ideas on this please

Networked EPOS changes made in view with access

    Hello,

It is possible to search for the product title by going to Stock Orders\Lookup\Lookup\ - enter in the product title.

The Actinic Epos shortcut should always look to itself (C:\Checkout...) when opening epos. The shortcut that’s created when Epos is originally installed is correct.

The network settings are important regarding the updates. Your epos needs to be connected to the server epos system; you can set this by going to: Setup\Connect and entering in the correct network path to the server by browsing through the network and finally pressing connect once each database path is correct. Any updates are usually then made on the server and finally a ‘copy data from server’ is performed to pull the new updates across the network to update the other epos system\s.

    Hope that helps

    Andy

Have just found out that it was in local mode, if I can export the changes I made that would be great.

Access 2007 has converted my file

I used access 2007 to open EPOS and it has converted the file to a newer version.

This seems OK on the tills they work OK, but I would like to be able to regress the database to the Access 2002 standard, is there a way of doing this?

          Hello Pete,

I'd recommend installing Access 2003 to revert the database files back. I can't see there being a way to convert some and not others. Running the databases on Access 2007 could cause issues. I don't have Office 2007 to test fully however this is something I can suggest to our QA team to investigate.

          Thanks

          Andy

            Access Issue

I found that it opens OK in Access 2003 except that I can't order a column in view mode now, any suggestions please.
