    Database export/import questions via EPOS&V9

I want to clean up our EPOS database using V9 (which I haven't started using to sell online yet; reason for clean up). I have exported the EPOS database to a csv file and have manipulated it a bit so it read a bit easier. I then intend to update the file (accurate cost info, quantity on hand, move products into and out of categories, update product descriptions, etc.).

I then will import this into V9 and back into EPOS - at least that is what I assume I need to do as EPOS doesn't have a stand alone import functionality so the path I need to follow is: export it from EPOS -> create a flat file I edit & save -> import this file into V9 -> then export database from V9 back to EPOS. Done!

    A few questions I have:

    1) Cost does not seem to be indicated in the cvs file I created/exported from EPOS. Where is this info/field? It is easier for me to edit what is in the database than recreate from scratch. I found out through support that cost isn't exported.
    2) EPOS has departments and categories. I don't see these on the export file. Where are they? Are these the same as Sections? It looks like they are the same.
    3) Is it possible to create more than three categories (i.e. sections if #2) for V9? EPSO only has 3 categories shown in the product screen in EPOS?
    4) Where does 'department' fall into all this? In EPOS, there seems to be a higher level segmentation with 'sections' (categories) coming underneath - or at least that is the way EPOS segments products. I don't see 'department' in V9 or know what it is called in V9.
    5) Is there anyone or a tool out there that would turn the hierachical V9 database into a flat file with all the same data? I just cannot get my head around the hierarchical file format and find it easier to work with flat files

I was able to open the EPOS catalogue through MS Access, save it as an excel file and am using this for the time being to manipulate the data - including cost. #2-5 are still outstanding questions I have.

btw - I have basic knowledge of Excel but no Access knowledge and am just learning to use V9 via trial and error. Thanks for your patience.
