    EPOS Maintenance

    Hi

    We have been using our EPOS system in our retail store for just over a year. Can anyone advise on best practice for maintaining records. (or deleting records)

    Having not had a store before I wonder if other shops do some sort of annual EPOS close and start afresh or do you just let EPOS grow and grow?

    We sell baby clothing, so we keep getting new designs (New Products) so last years products become dormant. Do we just leave them or delete them form the products file? If we delet them what happens with other records?

    Has anyone written or seen a guide on best practice in retail. The EPOS guide tells you what the system does but it doesn't advise what to do. Its pretty easy to get all the numbers for the accounts and close the year, but I feel our EPOS will just keep expanding with records and products and then be liable to database or speed issues.
