    Multiple errors

    Hello All,

Is anyone experiencing corrupted uploads ?
My products have a load of code errors in the description area.

Actinic are trying to solve this, but just wanted to see if anyone else is having the same. Im also getting all kinds of upload error messages especially 'recordset is read only'.

Also getting email authorisation refused by 1and1 smtp server, even though ive entered the following correctly :

    auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk
    Username = full email address
Password = as set up in 1and1 control panel.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    Michael
    Kind regards,

    Michael

For your 1&1 problem, search the community. The correct SMTP server to use has changed.

      Thankyou Norman,

mrvnet.kundenserver.de works fine now. Shame their support staff told me the other one should work !

Now all I need is the corrupted file uploads fixed.

        'recordset is read only'.

        'recordset is read only'.
I have lots of trouble with this.

Using W7 Professional rather than home user sorted it. Something to do with XP compatibility. It was a bit beyond me but Robert F in support sorted it for me.

          Hi Jonathan,

          Thanks for your reply.
Can I ask if you had to rebuild for the win 7 pro machine or could you import the site that was not working in the first place ?
          Kind regards,

          Michael

Ive been informed that there will be a fix in the first maintenance release, the question is when will it be released. Does anyone know ?
            Kind regards,

Yesterday this email setting worked mrvnet.kundenserver.de
              Today its failing on authentication.

Hoping this is all to do with the fixes in the maintenance release.

Edit: Ive just been reading through the mass of messages that show a problem related to 1and1 shared hosting smtp.. Can anyone recommend a web host that specialises in actinic / sellerdeck ?
              Kind regards,

              Michael

The best specialist hosting is of course with SellerDeck themselves. However 1and1 works well for many people.

Well I host with sellerdeck themselves and the upgrade is broken

I can't tell whether it is just a problem of encoding and/or file format, but right now
                  - several of my catalog files are broken, because of non escaped single quotes in data
                  - something is wrong with sessions/cookies which mean my site is unable to sell

files were uploaded with wrong line end format (windows not unix) and wrong encoding (needs to be utf8 it seems) - this means that sellerdeck is generating it wrong and uploading it wrong for its own system.
You'd expect the configuration to be right for their own hosting...

Just saying going with their own service doesn't guarantee anything. Now to decide whether to roll back (if it is permissions based it might still be broken then)

As I remember it all worked in pro but not in home premium.
                    I just upgraded w7

Michael, I'm struggling to make the connection between what you've described and the fixes we have planned so far for the first maintenance release. Can you email me with your support ticket number, please? bruce.townsend(at)sellerdeck.co.uk. I want to make sure we have identified your issue and found a fix for it.

                      Thanks

                        Hi Bruce,

Have just sent you an email.
The problem appears to be dynamic pricing corrupted on upload.

Here is a link for you and anyone else who might want to take a look:

Can either Bruce or Ian Bigg from support get in touch with me please, if I dont have a fix for this error today I am going to have to say that the product is unusable.

Sorry but this has gone on long enough and a should have been fixed by now.
                          Kind regards,
