You might be aware of this issue already, and I've since reported to support.
I've noticed in old product layouts that get upgraded to 2013 that the input field for quantity is missing the closing />
It appears to effect most of the old product layouts such as Compact Layout Using CSS etc.
Most web browsers will forgive the error and display the quantity field correctly so you might not notice issue unless you view source.
