List of choices variable reverting after renaming

    Hi all

I am using a list of choices variable and went though a number of my products and chose the relevant choice for each one. The filtering worked great. However, I realised that I had made a spelling error in one of the choices so went back into the variable in the design library to change it. Unfortunately after I did this, all products went back to the parent choice. It seems like you can't change the text of a choice and if you do, each property choice will default to 'parent'

If I were to delete a choice from the variable then fair enough but I am only renaming

Is this a bug? I know I made a spelling error so it was my fault but if I was wanting to change the name of something for another reason, I would have to go through all of my approx. 300 products to change the choices back. Goodness knows what this would be like for someone with a larger shop

    Any ideas?

    Morning Oliver

This is working as designed; for If a product cannot find the value assigned to it originally, it will automatically take on the parent value. So this would indeed mean having to re-select the relevant one.

      OK.

This may prove to be a bit awkward. I see now why this is not working how I thought it should. I do think it should be implemented though. For instance, each product is give a "ProductName". If this ProductName is changed then it changes across the whole shop - we don't have to physically change it at every instance.

For a small shop like mine it will take probably half an hour to revert to the necessary choice but how would a shop with 10,000 products cope?

I know I should concentrate and think about my choice names but if a designer out there is asked to change them by one of his clients, the client will get a hefty bill for a change that perhaps should be automated.

Does any one else think this?
