Search suggestions in centre of screen

I have just upgraded to V12 and it went ok - just some minor issues which I've managed to resolve, but one has me flummoxed:

When using the search in the top left, the search suggestions appear in the centre of the screen.

Check it out with 'duct..'

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but how?

You have some custom CSS in your style sheet which has a position: relative on the id bodywrapper conflicting with the new CSS for the search suggestions. Removing or commenting out your position relative line would fix the problem, however this may affect your layout there may be a reason why position relative was used in the first place.

This would all be a throwback to my deciding to rebuild the site myself a few years back and not knowing what the hell I was doing.

Well I commented it out as you suggested and doesn't seem to have affected anything, and the issue is fixed, which means you are officially brilliant!
