Including variables on filtered page

Is there any way to include custom variables on a filtered page? I appreciate the difficulty in doing this but as it stands the lack of them really buggers up my page layout.

If you look at this page:- http://www.superlogo.co.uk/acatalog/Cricket-1-p1.html - the suppier image is displayed with a variable and the number of colours is counted from what is entered into the attribute. However, when you filter the page by any of the options these disappear!

Is there any clever way of getting them to show up when a filter is on?
