    argh .. basket losing contents

    what's happening here then?

    customers calling to say they are loading shopping basket, then when they get to checkout their order has vanished.

    I dread to think how many sales this has lost !

    any ideas welcome .. fast !

    Have recently upgraded?

      it was upgraded just before I left for a job in Texas and am working remotely .. (typical). Naturally, I don't have a very recent backup with me .. (again .. typical) only one from a couple of weeks back .. which I could use if necessary, but would rather avoid doing if there's an alternative.

          I've looked and the behaviour is exactly the same as the other site that had this problem.

          Something Sellerdeck need to get a grip on.

            Anybody having success with upgrade?

            I am trying to decide when to try again to upgrade from 12.0.1 to 12.0.2, having had a major problem with it last week and having to revert to 12.0.1.

            I see that at least two people that we know of have had a bad problem with basket contents disappearing (this thread). My problem was with uploading, which instantly failed, though Sellerdeck can upload when testing on their server, so would appear to be a problem on my computer (small business server).

            What would encourage me to try again would be to hear from anybody who has success with upgrading to 12.0.2. I am keen to do the upgrade if possible, as it will remove some problems with bugs and add some better sorting options in filtering. Once I have the filtering sorted on my main website, I want to upgrade another site which will benefit especially from filtering.

            The issue in this thread doesn't have a published solution as yet, as my problem also has not been solved, though if I re-try I will ensure that the back-up drive has been unplugged before doing the computer re-start, which is the only thing that I can think of.

              I have upgraded 6 sites to 12.0.2 and none have had the problem with the basket contents disappearing. The filtering fixes work well, the on page dynamic filtering is quicker.

                Thank you Louise. At least I now know that it is possible. Sellerdeck have not been able to find out the cause of my upload problem: they could upload my snapshot to their test server successfully, and have not as yet reported back on the dmp file that I supplied to them last week. Have you come across problems like this caused by a computer re-start failure? That is the only thing that I can think of. When I applied the upgrade the computer (business server) re-started, though I was doing it remotely, and had not unplugged the back-up drive, which can apparently cause confusion when re-starting. My guess is that if the system files had not be updated it could have caused the failure, but I am far from being an expert. I also wonder whether this, or something similar, could also cause the problem in this thread.

                  Apologies for the inconvenience caused by this issue. A modified ACTINIC.pm has been posted here which resolves the problem.
