    Header layout changing

We finally launched the new site today. All seems to work ok apart from on some computers the header is laying out completely differently to how it is meant to. Seems fine on most but on some it is putting the quick search bar to the left and moving the login, contact us and returns links to the bottom. Any ideas why this may be?

Which browser were you having issues with? Looks fine in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome. However older versions of Internet Explorer could be because CSS have a lack of width and use padding on floated elements both browsers bugs. Also some Add to Cart were not showing.

yep - oversight on my behalf, thanks for the tip off! The header issue seems to just be limited to certain versions of IE9 but also on IOS!

Check if IE9 has "Compatibility View" on (from Tools menu or broken page icon in the url bar). This will display web pages as they might look in older IE browsers and cause the CSS browser bugs.

yes - i unticked the "disaplay all websites in compatibilty view" and it is now fine on IE9 - problem is how do you tell your customers this is the issue or do we just presume they also are not using compatability view?

The Compatibility View may be switched on for some users or it may not. It may be possible to include a tag to tell Internet Explorer which browser engine to use. The best solution is to adjust your CSS style sheets to make sure the layout works whether Compatibility View is switched on or not as much as is possible to do.
